By 20th November 2018 No Comments

Please join us to celebrate the opening of an exhibition of Peter Blake’s collages and illustrations. The full set of his illustrations for Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood will be shown, alongside other works that give a ‘sense of the artist’.

In Conversation with Peter Blake

Sir Peter Blake’s contribution to British Pop Art is unparalleled: he is particularly well known for his use of collages and assemblages. His work is inspired by his love affair with icons and the ephemera of popular contemporary culture, including posters of film and music stars, badges, photographs, advertising and postcards. He has also worked with famous bands and rock stars, producing seminal cover art for music albums including The Beatles, Paul Weller, Band Aid and The Who. He continues to work prolifically from his studio in west London, maintaining his reputation and popularity. He will be talking about the exhibition and his lifelong passions, including his collections. For an artist that is still creating new works at 86, there is much to talk about!

Peter Blake will also open the Swansea Open Exhibition December 8th in conjunction with the private view for Peter Blake Collages and Illustrations.
