Dr Barry Plummer, Honorary Research Fellow at Trinity St David’s University of Wales, will be introducing us to the work and career of Evan Walters with particular emphasis on how Swansea shaped him as an artist.

Evan Walters (1893 – 1951) is perhaps the great hidden secret of Welsh painting in the Twentieth century, an outstanding artist known for a wide variety of subjects – landscapes, portraits ranging from miners to politicians which are painted in even a wider range of styles, including in his distinctive ‘double vision’ work.
