Andrew Green (President of the Friends) talks about ‘Esther Grainger: artist and activist’
Esther Grainger (1912-1990) worked in the ‘Pontypridd Settlement’ as a teacher and organiser in the 1930s and 1940s, and was an accomplished multi-media artist in her own right.
Founder of the Federation of Welsh Music and Art Clubs and feted by The Rhondda Group, she was a seminal figure in Welsh art who deserves much wider recognition.
