    Between the Hidden and the Visible World.
    Wednesday February 9th, 7pm

    Gilly and Jacqui will be talking about the inception and development of the exhibition ‘Not without my Ghosts, Artist as Medium’ which is currently showing at the Glynn Vivian until March 13th. They will talk about the collaboration between Drawing Room and Hayward Gallery Touring, discussing key pieces and artists within the exhibition.
     
    Gilly Fox is a curator based in London, UK. She is Assistant Curator at Hayward Gallery Touring and organiser of this exhibition
    She lectures on fine art, curating and photography courses across the UK. In 2016 Gilly was selected for the Clore Leadership programme and launched her independent art consultancy, advising clients on commissioning artists and work for the built environment.
     
    Jacqui McIntosh is a writer and curator based in London. She is Exhibitions Manager at Drawing Room where she contributes to the understanding of the medium of drawing through research, curation of exhibitions, writing, exhibitions management and programming of events. Since 2012 she has managed the delivery of over 35 exhibitions at Drawing Room and has expertise in the care and display of historical and contemporary drawing in its widest interpretation.
    She has a particular interest in artists whose spiritual development has evolved in tandem with their artistic output. Current research areas include mediumistic and automatic drawing practices and the influence of occult theories in both historical and contemporary art.

    Paintings of paintings and other stories

    Lara Davies is undertaking an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art. She is interested in how objects and spaces hold intimate histories, and how ancestry, kinship, upbringing and storytelling affect personal narratives in contemporary society.
    Lara’s work is held in both private and public collections, including in the collection of the Contemporary Art Society of Wales.
